50 Competitors makes Modified Nationals busiest EMMA event of season
The Modified Nationals show attracted 50 cars to compete in the EMMA autosound competition event that took place alongside the main car show. Spread across two days, all the EMMA categories were represented, including four SPL categories, and the competition was fierce.
The Experienced Unlimited category was decided by just one point, with Sheffield-based Team Source's Paul Fallows victorious against Arun Sharma. A single point made the difference in the Advanced 5 Channel and Advanced Unlimited categories also.
The ESPL Experienced classes (sound pressure level) were also closely contested, unlike the one-man category of Master Unlimited, which saw "noisy boy" and true SPL legend, Ian Pinder, hit an impressive 155.7dB with doors closed. Ian's experience in SPL goes back some 15 years, when the UK SPL scene was in its infancy and competitors learned by trial and error, sheer guts and determination, and never mind the cost (of broken subs and amps!). It's terrific to see Ian still with the enthusiasm to compete, and he knows how to put on a show for visitors.
Event Director, Kenny Robinson, said of the event, "This was our busiest weekend so far, with judging teams stretched to the limit on the Sunday. However, the sun was out and the show was well organised, with plenty for competitors to see and do. A big thank you from EMMA UK Ltd. goes to judges, crew and sponsors, and of course, the competitors!"
The next event will be held on June 27th and 28th at Car Audio & Security. Visit www.emma-uk.com for full details and results.
